It’s always nice to start holiday planning early and luckily we have three fantastic holiday destinations to suggest. Whether you’re looking for culture, fun or relaxation (or a mix of all three), these dreamy destinations are set to cater to your holiday needs. Spanning unique corners of the world we have our hearts set on sipping whisky in the Hebrides, big-cat spotting in the Maasai Mara and reveling classical music in Florence's Corsini gardens....
Raasay Distillery on the beautiful and unspoilt Inner Hebridean island of Raasay is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or longer adventure, whether travellers are seeking seclusion and silent star-lit nights, or to learn more about the craft of whisky making. Raasay is a quiet island, situated between Skye and mainland Scotland and the new island distillery is pioneering a new provenance for Scotch whisky. Visitors to the Raasay Distillery, from the curious to the connoisseur, can experience first-hand the exciting journey that has brought the team to create the first Isle of Raasay single malt. Raasay Distillery is now also part of the self-guided 'Hebridean Whisky Trail' which joins up fellow distilleries Torabhaig Distillery, Talisker Distillery and Isle of Harris Distillery.
The distillery also has five luxurious bedrooms, ensuring that after a fascinating distillery tour (and a couple of drams!) whisky tourists can prolong their visit to Raasay, using the distillery as a base to explore this unforgettable corner of Scotland. Courageous travelers to Raasay can explore the island on foot; scale the magnificent peak of Dun Caan, beach-comb along the rugged shoreline or nestle into armchairs in the distillery lounge with a book and a dram and while away the afternoon.
The New Generation Festival
The New Generation Festival is taking place 28th - 31st August 2019 in the beautiful Gardens of the Palazzo Corsini al Prato in Florence. The festival, now in it's third year – is an international platform for the finest young music talent, offering an array of awe-inspiring productions, showcasing rising stars of the opera, theatre and music industry in a unique and picturesque setting.
Throughout the weekend, audiences will take to the Corsini Gardens for open-air musical and dramatic performances. The festival's programme will be headlined by Le nozze di Figaro, conducted by Jonathan Santagada and directed by Victoria Stevens.
Maintaining the festival’s founding principle of giving young performers a platform to shine, the 2019 event will bring eight of the world’s best young jazz musicians together to celebrate the legacy of Harlem’s contribution to popular music with 'From Blues To Bebop': The Spirit of Harlem. The festival will also host The Filippo Corsini Orchestral concert, with soloist Giuseppe Guarrera, conducted by Maximilian Fane.
